The New Zealand embassy on Sunday allegedly sought the help of a congressional leader for an oxygen cylinder. The New Zealand embassy also tweeted for this. However, the embassy deleted the tweet when questions were raised against the government. The embassy also clarified that the tweet was in error.

The New Zealand embassy made a tweet on Sunday morning and sought the help of an oxygen cylinder from BV Srinivas, national president of the Youth Congress. Congress's SOS Twitter account was also tagged. The tweet read, "Can you deliver an oxygen cylinder emergency help to the New Zealand embassy? Thank you."

The tweet sparked controversy and raised questions about what the government was doing if foreign embassies had to seek help from opposition leaders. The New Zealand embassy deleted the tweet after the controversy and wrote in a new tweet, "We are trying to reach out to all sources for immediate arrangement of oxygen cylinders. We are sorry for the mistake we made."

Congress leader Srinivasa delivered the oxygen cylinder after the New Zealand embassy sought help. Earlier on Saturday night, Congress delivered an oxygen cylinder to the Philippine embassy.
