Gaza attack: The remains of an Indian nurse who was the victim of a rocket attack in Israel have reached India

The remains of Soumya Santosh, a 30-year-old Indian nurse who was hit by a rocket fired by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, have arrived at the New Delhi airport. Earlier, the Indian embassy tweeted that a plane carrying Soumya's body left Ben-Gurion Airport at around 7:00 a.m. on Friday. The plane is expected to reach Delhi on Saturday morning.

Minister of State for External Affairs V. at Delhi Airport. Muralitharan and Israel's Deputy Ambassador Yedilia Klein were in attendance. The remains will be flown from Delhi today to Idukki, the home district of Kerala Soumya.
Soumya was working as a nurse for an 80-year-old woman in a house in the southern Israeli town of Ashkelon. Soumya was talking in a video call with her husband on Monday evening when Hamas militants fired rockets at Ashkelon from Gaza City. Soumya died when the rocket landed directly on the building.
The elderly woman whom Soumya was caring for was injured in the attack and is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Soumya, who has been working in Israel for the last 7 years, also has a 9-year-old son who lives in Kerala with her husband.
