Corona virus: 1.86 lakh cases, the lowest figure in 44 days

The country faced 1,86,163 cases of corona virus on Thursday, the lowest number in 44 days. However, the death toll is still over 3,000. Karnataka has the highest number of deaths, followed by Tamil Nadu. For the second time in a week, the number of corona infections has dropped to less than 2 lakh. Less than 2 lakh cases were reported for the first time on Monday. The lowest number was 1,85,295 on April 13.

Karnataka had the highest number of deaths at 476 in the last 24 hours while Tamil Nadu had 474 deaths. 188 people died in UP, 181 in Kerala, 178 in Punjab, 148 in Bengal, 117 in Delhi and 104 in Andhra Pradesh.

21,273 new cases in Maharashtra

According to the health department, 21,273 new cases of corona were reported in Maharashtra on Thursday, bringing the total number of infection cases in the state to 56,72,180 while the state's total death toll rose to 92,225 with 425 deaths. Of the 425 deaths, 267 occurred in the last 48 hours while 158 deaths were reported last week.

24,214 new cases in Karnataka

In Karnataka, the total number of infected people has crossed 25 lakh after 24,214 new cases of Kovid-19 came to light. While 476 patients died due to the infection. 31,459 patients were discharged from the hospital due to the release of the infection which is a larger figure than the new case.

The highest number of 5,949 new cases were reported from Bengaluru Urban. Here in the day 6,643 patients were free of infection and 273 people died due to infection.
