- After the result of 5 states, the rebel group got a big opportunity to surround the Gandhi family

The Congress has failed to break its losing streak in the country's five state elections, leaving the party empty-handed. Rahul Gandhi was in Kerala while Priyanka Gandhi was in Assam. In these circumstances, despite all the possibilities in Assam and Kerala, the party's defeat has raised questions about the strategy of Rahul-Priyanka's leadership. Amid rising insurgency in the party and growing discontent, the defeat of the Congress has given the rebel leaders a chance to take a stand against the Gandhi family.

The management of the recent 5 state election strategy was entirely in the hands of the current Congress leadership and their personal party strategists. Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi's reputation as an MP from Wayanad in Kerala was at stake in the Assembly elections. This is why Rahul focused most on the Kerala election campaign while Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi kept herself busy in the Assam campaign. However, out of 5 states, both of them mainly focused on 2 states. Yet both leaders of the Gandhi family have not been successful in their respective states. The Congress leadership has not been successful in wooing the people despite the anti-incumbency atmosphere.

Priyanka's magic did not work in Assam

The BJP has once again managed to save its government in the Assam Assembly elections. While the Congress' attempt to form an alliance with Badruddin Ajmal's party has also failed. Not only that, Priyanka did a decisive experiment by handing over the responsibility of election management in Assam to Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, but the party did not get the benefit and the Congress was wrapped up in its old results.

Kerala's defeat challenges Rahul

In this direction, Rahul Gandhi kept himself focused on Kerala. In Kerala, it was believed that Rahul would be able to create a positive atmosphere in the Congress-led UDF party as he was changing the way he campaigned and communicating with the people. Yet Rahul Gandhi failed to break the political dominance of Pinarayi Vijayan of the Left Front. This is the second consecutive time in Kerala's political history that a party has returned to power in four decades. The results in Assam and Kerala also show that the current Congress leadership has failed to win a referendum despite the anti-incumbency atmosphere.

There will be political turmoil in the Congress

Even before the election of the new Congress president, the Gandhi family may be questioned over the party's poor performance in the five state elections. After not opening a Congress account in Bengal, a crushing defeat in Assam-Kerala and a loss of power in Puducherry, the party is once again on the brink of upheaval as leaders of the party's dissident group (G-23) continue to question the shrinking Congress base. Under these circumstances, this rebel group of the party may once again take the front.

Challenge against the Gandhi family

After these results, it will be difficult for the top leadership of the Congress to answer the questions that will be raised about the current state of the party. This is especially the reason why disgruntled leaders who questioned the party's weak position and leadership disintegration had no role during the 5 state elections. Under these circumstances, the rebel group has a great opportunity to encircle the Gandhi family.
