China offers low-quality oxygen concentrator to India, raises prices

New Delhi, May 14, 2021, Friday

Corona transition in India has led to a huge need for medical equipment in the country. As a result, India has had to seek help from other countries. Including China.

India has ordered a large number of oxygen concentrators from China. However, now China has started taking advantage of India's compulsion. Instead of helping India, China is now taking unfair advantage of the situation. Chinese companies have not only raised the price of medical equipment, but also raised doubts about its quality.

According to a media report, the oxygen concentrators coming to India from China are of inferior quality. Chinese companies have not only increased their prices but also changed the parts used in them. Which is affecting its quality. Such concentrators can also pose a risk to people's lives.

Surprisingly, Chinese companies have also kept the prices of concentrators with a capacity of five liters and ten liters different. Its price has also risen sharply in the last few weeks. China, on the other hand, is showing the world that it is delivering humanitarian aid to India. The Chinese ambassador to India tweeted on Wednesday about the equipment being sent by China. So as to project the oceanic image of China.

"Chinese companies are giving priority to humanity," Chinese Ambassador Wei Dong said in a tweet. It is focused on saving the lives of the people in India and is working to meet the needs of the people of India.

However, the media report said that before April 30, a Chinese company called Yuvel used to supply a piece of oxygen concentrator to India for 3 340 and now, a week later, the price has gone up to 4 460. Meanwhile, many Indian businessmen who buy goods from China say that questions are being raised about the quality of the new supply. Some businesses have canceled their orders because the parts used in the oxygen concentrator are a cheaper alternative to previously used parts. The quality of the goods is also not checked.

India has also protested against the increase in prices by Chinese companies. Indian Ambassador Priyanka Chauhan has raised the issue with the Chinese government and expressed hope that China would reduce prices and keep the supply chain open amid the transition to the corona.
