Catastrophic remarks on Lord Ram, police complaint against former student leader Sharjeel Usmani

A police complaint has finally been registered against Sharjeel Usmani, a former student leader of Aligarh Muslim University, for making catastrophic remarks on Lord Rama's slogan.

Maharashtra Police has registered a complaint against Usmani for making catastrophic tweets. Police said that Ambadas Ambhore, a citizen of Maharashtra, had alleged in the complaint that Usmani had made catastrophic remarks for Lord Ram in a post on Twitter, which hurt religious sentiments.

Based on the complaint, the police filed a case against Usmani late on Wednesday night. Complainant Ambadas Ambhore is associated with Hindu Jagran Manch. He also made controversial religious remarks at an Elgar conference in Pune, Maharashtra, in February this year.

Usmani is a resident of UP. It was discussed in the wake of the nationwide agitation against the CAA. His father is a professor at Aligarh Muslim University and has been a student leader at the university. He was also accused of making inflammatory speeches during a rally in Delhi's Shahinbagh as part of the CAA movement.
