The death toll has been steadily rising since the Aligarh massacre in Uttar Pradesh and 56 people have been killed so far. In addition, 18 people have been hospitalized, many in critical condition. But the district administration is trying to hide the statistics.

Although postmortems of 48 villagers were carried out by Saturday night, District Collector Chandrabhushan Singh confirmed the deaths of 25 people late last night. However, MP Satish Gautam reached the postmortem center in the afternoon and confirmed 35 deaths. Police arrested six people involved in the liquor smuggling gang and sent them to jail on Saturday evening. This includes block president Renu Sharma and RLD leader Anil Chaudhary. Apart from that, the search is on for Rishi Sharma, the husband of Renu, who has a prize of Rs 50,000, and his partner Vipin Yadav.

Station in charge suspended for 24 hours

SSP Kalanidhi Naithani has suspended SO Lodha Abhay Sharma and handed over the investigation of negligence at the police level to SP Crime Rajesh Srivastava.

Late last night, 51 bodies were delivered to the postmortem house but 25 deaths have been confirmed due to drinking. An autopsy is underway on the deaths of the remaining suspects. Only after studying the postmortem report of all of them can the status of the cause of death be clarified.
