Dowry contamination in India is just as widespread today. Dowry breaks the marital life of thousands of women and some women have to commit suicide. In some cases, even going back to die for dowry.

There are also those who speak out against this social evil. Such a unique case has happened in Shahjahanpur, UP. In which the youth got married in a unique way to set an example against the evil of dowry practice. He had asked for dowry but he had asked for something in the dowry that even the people present at the wedding were thinking. The wedding ceremony was also completed in just 17 minutes.

The whole matter is that Pushpendra Dubey's marriage was to take place with Preeti Tiwari but even before the marriage, Pushpendra had laid down a condition that the marriage would be consummated with simplicity. In which very few guests were involved. Unlike a traditional wedding, Jaan did not get along with Bandwaja. Only some members of Preeti and Pushpendra's family were involved in the marriage. Seven rounds were taken at the temple and the marriage was consummated.

The marriage was consummated in just 17 minutes but the most striking thing was that the girl's family wanted to give dowry to Pushpendra but Pushpendra refused. While the girl's family was insisting on dowry, Pushpendra asked her for a copy of Ramayana in dowry.

Hearing the groom's demand, the bride was annoyed by Preeti's family. However, soon after, a copy of Ramayana was rushed and Pushpendra accepted the dowry. However, there is a lot of discussion on this issue now. Pushpendra and Preeti are now appealing to others not to spend money on marriage and not to take dowry.
