We will starve but not trade with India! The boast of the Prime Minister of Pakistan who is suffering from inflation

Islamabad, 1 April 2021, Thursday

Pakistan has now reversed its decision to allow imports of sugar and cotton from India, with Imran Khan's government withdrawing its decision to trade with India.

In fact, the price of sugar and cotton in Pakistan has gone up so much that it was decided to import these products to India, but later politics started, and under pressure, the Imran government reversed its decision.

Although Pakistan has not yet officially announced it, if the decision of the Economic Coordination Committee had been implemented, trade between India and Pakistan would have resumed two years later. On Wednesday, Pakistan's new finance minister, Hammad Azhar, announced plans to do business with India.

He spoke of importing cotton and sugar from India, but also defended his decision to trade with India. Pakistan had approved import of 5 lakh tonnes of sugar from India, while also deciding to import cotton by the end of June to meet the needs of micro and small scale industries there.
