Violence before the sixth phase of polls in Bengal, bomb blasts at 3 places, death of one


- Explosion near BJP leaders' houses in two places

Ahead of the sixth phase of Assembly polls in West Bengal, a bomb blast rocked three places in the state on Tuesday. The pre-poll blasts once again created an atmosphere of fear. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a polling station. One person has lost his life in these blasts.

Titagarh

A crude bomb was hurled at a dumping ground at Titagarh in North 24 Parganas. Upon learning of this, the police rushed to the spot and rushed the two trapped people to the hospital. One of them, a 28-year-old man, died during treatment.

Barrackpore

The miscreants also hurled raw bombs at another place in Titagarh in the Barrackpore assembly constituency. This place is near the house of BJP leader Santosh Jena. Police seized two live crude bombs from the area on Wednesday. Tensions were high in the region after both the incidents.

Jagat Dal

A bomb blast also took place late Tuesday night at Bhatapara. The area is considered a stronghold of BJP MP Arjun Singh. He was previously a member of the TMC.
