Underworld don Chhota Rajan was recently infected with corona in Tihar Jail. He has now been shifted to AIIMS Hospital, Delhi for further treatment, where his condition is reported to be stable.

Rajan was extradited to Bali, Indonesia in 2015. He has been lodged in Tihar Jail since he was brought to India. All the cases against him in Mumbai have been transferred to the CBI. A special court has also been set up to hear the case.

According to Tihar Jail sources, Rajan was supposed to be present at the video conferencing for the hearing of a case but she is currently admitted to AIIMS Hospital after being coroned.

It may be mentioned that the transmission of corona has suddenly increased among the inmates of Tihar Jail. Umar Khalid, a former student of JNU, has also contracted corona. He is being treated in jail. Bihar's Bahubali leader Shahbuddin has been shifted to a hospital after his health deteriorated.

A separate ward has been set up at the hospital for infected inmates, prison sources said. But other prisoners are also being infected. Now, large-scale corona testing of prisoners has also started.
