Will produce oxygen and provide oxygen for free. In fact, an application was made to open a Vedanta Sterlite plant in Tamil Nadu, which had been closed for three years.

Senior advocate Harish Salve, on behalf of Vedanta, told the apex court that Vedanta only wants to start an oxygen plant at the Starlight plant. During the hearing on which the Supreme Court said that this is a national disaster. There should be no political conflict between the central and state governments. That said, the Supreme Court has allowed Vedanta to start only an oxygen plant at the Tuticorin copper plant.

A bench of Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice L Nageshwar Rao and Justice Ravindra Bhat heard the case. Justice Chandrachud asked Senior Advocate Salve when you can start the plant. Harish Salve said the oxygen plant will be started in 10 days. There, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta also represented the Central Government before the court.
