SC lashes out at Modi govt

New Delhi, 27 April 2021 Tuesday

The Supreme Court has sternly remarked on the central government over the ever-increasing cases of Corona virus. The Supreme Court said that we cannot be a bystander in this dire situation. The court said the government would also have to state what it plans to do to deal with the Corona crisis. Judge S.R. "I want to raise two issues, which are under the central government," Bhatt said. The first is how central resources are used. How paramilitary doctors, paramedics, military facilities and doctors are being used. Another question is whether the government has any plans to address the crisis.

Noting the growing number of cases of corona, the apex court said the high courts should keep an eye on the situation in the states. The court said it should be monitored by the high court, but even the apex court cannot remain silent. "Our job is to coordinate between the states," the court said. Apart from this the court has also asked whether the army and other forces will be used by the central government in this crisis.

What did the Supreme Court say?

Last Thursday, the apex court had issued a self-consciousness notice to the government asking what plans it had at the national level to deal with the corona virus, citing the current situation as a national emergency. Asked about the answer, the court asked the Center to state its national level plan to fight Corona.

"The Supreme Court cannot intervene in the midst of this crisis," Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said on behalf of the government. "We are handling the situation with full vigilance," the court said.
