Amid rocket-propelled grenade cases in the country, a headline has surfaced. Saudi Arabia has raised the price of crude oil shipped to Asia.

Saudi Arabia officially announced on Sunday that it would raise crude oil prices by 20-30 percent. However, there has been no increase in the price of crude oil sent to Europe. At the same time, India's hopes have been dashed. India had recommended to Saudi Arabia to increase crude oil production to bring down prices.

Saudi Arabia has raised crude oil prices at a time when India has called for a cut in imports from Saudi Arabia and an increase in production at its refineries. Saudi Arabia raised prices after rejecting India's demand for a reduction in oil prices. The Saudi move is seen as a response from Dharmendra Pradhan.

India had appealed to Saudi Arabia to reduce prices, but its minister, Abdul Aziz bin Salman al-Saud, said India should use its strategic oil reserves, which it had accumulated in the wake of falling oil prices last year.
