New delhi date. 13
Purification is not possible in the capital Delhi as water pollution has reached alarming levels. Haryana-Punjab is responsible for water scarcity and pollution in Delhi. The Delhi Water Board filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court and directed the apex court to make a proper decision.
The Delhi Water Board's application was heard in the Supreme Court. At the time, the Delhi Water Board had filed an affidavit stating that purification was not possible as the ammonia content in Delhi's water was alarmingly high. If such a level is maintained, the water supply in Delhi will have to be cut off.
The Delhi Water Board told the apex court that Haryana-Punjab was responsible for the water shortage in the capital Delhi. Moreover, Haryana is also responsible for polluted water. The Delhi Water Board had demanded that the apex court order Haryana to release pure water. There is a severe shortage of water in Delhi during Ramadan and Navratri. Not only that, as corona is currently being treated in hospitals, hospitals also need more water. The Delhi Water Board proposed to take appropriate decision in this direction.
According to the Water Board, pollution spreads from Haryana to the Yamuna. Chemicals are released. That water reaches Delhi. Earlier, the Haryana government had filed its reply in the Supreme Court on March 9. At the same time, the apex court had urged Haryana to take immediate steps to prevent water shortage in Delhi. Earlier in January, the Delhi Water Board had filed an application in the Supreme Court on the issue of pollution and scarcity.
The Delhi Water Board is the water supply agency of the Delhi government. The board is responsible for alleviating water scarcity and providing clean water in Delhi. The situation is the same across the country as the Delhi Board's response to the Supreme Court. There is a problem of water pollution in the country and the pollution is increasing alarmingly.
