PM Modi cancels his Bengal election tour, to hold "high level meeting" tomorrow

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday canceled his visit to West Bengal. PM Modi himself has given this information by tweeting. PM Modi has tweeted that he will hold a high-level meeting tomorrow to review the status of the corona virus. I will not go to West Bengal. It may be mentioned here that PM Modi's visit to Bengal was already decided. But given the state of the corona virus in the country, the Prime Minister has decided not to go.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a high-level review meeting on the availability and supply of oxygen in the country and discussed ways and options to increase the availability of oxygen during this period. According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the Prime Minister stressed the need to work at a faster pace to increase oxygen production, speed up its delivery and ensure its access to health facilities. During this period, officials briefed the Prime Minister on the steps taken in the last few weeks to improve the supply of oxygen.

According to the statement, the Prime Minister was asked to co-operate with all the state governments to meet the oxygen demand of the states and ensure adequate supply accordingly. The Prime Minister was also told how the oxygen demand of the states is increasing rapidly. As against the demand of 6785 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen per day from 20 states, since April 21, 6822 metric tonnes per day is being allotted to them, according to the statement.
