Mass flight of laborers from Maharashtra, Railways decides to run 38 special trains

The exodus of migrant workers from all parts of Maharashtra has begun, crowds are flocking for trains in North India, and there is a long wait for tickets, and the Western Railway will also run additional summer special trains to ensure that tourists get confirmed tickets.

Western Railway has run 38 special summer trains from Mumbai to various destinations. Passengers will get 196 services from these trains. According to Sumit Thakur, chief public relations officer, Western Railway, a total of 266 regular special trains are currently operating.

In addition, 196 ferries of 38 special summer trains have been announced to cater to the growing demand and convenience of passengers. Thakur said 61 ferries of 17 Summer Special Trains have been announced for the regions of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Eastern India from April 10, 2021 to meet the demand for travel on a priority basis.

Due to these additional trains operated by Western Railway, passengers will be able to get 6,500 berths / seats per day. This means that 96,110 additional seats / berths will be arranged by the end of this month. This is an additional 30,000 berths / seats in an average of 20 trains per day for the above areas.
