Mamata Banerjee calls governor in Nandigram polls, says she will go to court

Kolkata, Ta. 1 April 2021, Thursday

The fate of Mamata Banerjee, who is contesting from West Bengal's Nandigram constituency, will be sealed in the EVM today.

Amid the ongoing polls in Nandigram constituency, Mamata Banerjee today accused the polls of rigging. This afternoon, Mamata Banerjee went to see the polling situation and stopped at a polling station. He then phoned the governor and alleged that the polls were being rigged and that he would go to court against him.

"The Election Commission is not taking any action," Mamata said. So far, 63 complaints have been lodged but not a single action has been taken. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has ordered creating problems during polling.

After Mamata Banerjee arrived at the polling booths, BJP and TMC activists rioted and accused each other of rigging the polls.

Sheikh Sufia, Mamata Banerjee's polling agent, alleged that Central Security Forces had beaten up voters. On the other hand, BJP supporters have also accused TMC supporters of preventing people from voting.
