Lockdown in Goa will continue till May 3, only essential services

Corona cases are also on the rise in Goa, a popular tourist destination. The state government has announced a lockdown.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that a complete lockdown would be implemented in Goa from noon on Thursday to May 3. Only essential services will be allowed to continue. There were 2321 new cases in Goa on Monday. There are currently about 15000 active cases in Goa.

Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that 200 to 300 people are expected to die every day in the next 10 to 20 days. The situation is really serious. Article 144 has also been implemented in Goa.

After Delhi, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa has also decided to have a lockdown. While Rajasthan has the same restrictions as a lockdown, while Gujarat has issued guidelines like a mini lockdown.
