Jharkhand: Naxals blow up railway track at Chakradharpur railway station, Howrah-Mumbai main railway line blocked

The Naxals blew up a railway track at Chakradharpur Rail Mandal in Jharkhand on Sunday night. Due to this, the Howrah-Mumbai main railway line has come to a standstill. It was learned that the Naxals had planted landmines near Lotapahad in Chakradharpur railway division and blew up the railway tracks. Trains were stopped at Chakradharpur Rail Mandal after the incident which took place at 2:15 pm.

Due to this, the transport of trains on the Howrah-Mumbai main railway line has come to a complete standstill. Passenger trains have been stopped at various stations of Chakradharpur Railway Division. According to a report, the Azad Hind Express train was targeted and the railway track was blown up but the Naxals failed to achieve their objective. Fortunately no train was damaged in the accident.

In fact, the Naxals are protesting against the ongoing operation for their elimination. The Naxals have announced an India Bandh on April 26. Railway officials besides district police, RPF rushed to the spot after the blast was reported in the railway track.
