Inventor Charles Geshki, who gifted the PDF to the IT world, has died at the age of 81

The PDF (Portable Document Format) is considered to be one of the most important inventions in the world of information technology.

He was also the co-founder of the software company Adobe. Adobe CEO Shatnu Narayan told the company's employees that Charles' demise was a great loss to the information technology world. He was a mentor and hero to those working in the field for decades. Communication has changed a lot because of software.

Shatanu Narayan said that Chuck promoted innovation in the company, which led to the development of revolutionary software such as PDF, Acrobat and Photoshop.

Geshki lived in San Francisco, USA. Geshki was awarded the National Medal of Technology by then US President Barack Obama in 2009. There was an attempt to kidnap Geshki in 1992. Two gunmen held him at gunpoint for four days.

A kidnapper was later caught.
