India Biotech gets approval for testing of nasal corona vaccine

The likelihood of a variety of vaccines becoming available to prevent corona is increasing. A nasal vaccine may also be available soon under this initiative. A team of experts from the Drug Controller General of India has given approval to Bharat Biotech, a Hyderabad-based company, for testing the first phase of the nasal vaccine.

The results of the first phase test will be presented to the team of experts and only after its review will the next phase test be approved. According to the company, the vaccine will be tested in four states of the country, including Maharashtra, Bihar, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

175 people between the ages of 18 and 60 will be involved in the test. It will have 3 groups of 70-70 and 35 people. Those in the first group will be given only one dose while the second group will also be given a placebo. Also the third group will be given only placebo. The results of the three groups will then be compared. According to scientists, a vaccine that can be given through the nose will be of great benefit to children.
