A boo in Dima Hasao district of Assam Despite the fact that the total number of voters is 80, the total number of votes has fallen to 181. Voting took place on April 1 at this booth of the Hufflong Assembly seat. A total of 7% voting took place in this seat.

The district election officer has suspended five officers from the booth after the irregularities came to light. Booth 108 (A) was operating at Khotlir LP School.

No official announcement has been made about re-voting at this booth. On the second day of polling, April 2, the Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer had ordered the suspension of all the five officials.

The Section Officer, Presiding Officer, First Polling Officer, Second Polling Officer and Third Polling Officer have been suspended with immediate effect following the incident.

According to officials, the investigation into the incident revealed that the village head had refused to accept the Election Commission's voter list and he had brought his voter list and cast his vote accordingly. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
