Hooghly riots during polls, BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee's car attacked


- Locket Chatterjee claims to have attacked TMC women for voting incorrectly

In West Bengal, the convoy of BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee has come under attack amid the fourth phase of polling. Locket Chatterjee's car was pelted with stones at Hooghly in Bengal, shattering the windshield. Fortunately Locket Chatterjee was not injured in the attack and is safe.

Locket Chatterjee reached booth number 66 and accused TMC supporters of rigging the voting. When he came out of the booth, TMC supporters started chanting slogans against him. According to Locket Chatterjee, he was caught attacking TMC women for voting incorrectly.

The security forces had to use batons to disperse the crowd outside the booth. The security forces had to resort to baton charges to move the occupants of Locket's vehicle. Locket Chatterjee is an MP from Hooghly. Asif Majumdar of TMC is contesting against him. The BJP blamed the TMC for the attack.

Violence has erupted in several places during the fourth phase of polling in Bengal. The bombs were seized from Birbhum and destroyed by the police. Clashes between BJP and TMC workers have also erupted in Cooch Behar.
