The death toll in Corona's second wave is rising very fast. There are long lines at the cremation ground and there is no space left in the cemeteries. This time, most of the youth are falling prey to this ordeal of death. Ashish Yechury, the eldest son of veteran CPI (M) leader Sitaram Yechury, has died at the age of just 34 due to corona.
Ashish Yechury had been battling Corona for the past several days and he breathed his last at Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on Thursday morning. Two weeks ago, Ashish was admitted to a hospital in Delhi where he was shifted to Medanta Hospital.
According to family members, Ashish was recovering but he died suddenly on Thursday morning. Ashish was working as a senior copy editor in a newspaper. Sitaram Yechury tweeted the news of his eldest son's death on Thursday morning.
It is with great sadness that I have to inform that I lost my elder son, Ashish Yechury to COVID-19 this morning. I want to thank all those who gave us hope and who treated him - doctors, nurses, frontline health workers, sanitation workers and innumerable others who stood by us.
