Break the chain: 15-day partial lockdown in Maharashtra, Article 144 enforced in the state: Uddhav Thackeray's announcement

- All offices except emergency service will be all

- Laborers, auto drivers, tribals will be tolerated

The second wave of Corona virus has hit the country, wreaking havoc. Maharashtra is the most affected state in the country by this second wave. Where the corona virus has become uncontrollable, more than 50,000 cases are being reported every day. That is when the speculation that a lockdown will be implemented in Maharashtra for the last several days has come to an end. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray addressed the gathering today and announced a 15-day partial lockdown in Maharashtra.

The new restrictions will take effect tomorrow at 8 p.m. Section 144 has been implemented across the state. "It may be that these restrictions are not in your mind, but you have to do them anyway," he said. A 15-day communication ban will be imposed across the state. You name it 'Break the Chain' instead of using the word lockdown.

Uddhav Thackeray said all offices would be closed except for essential services. However, banks, e-commerce, media, guards, petrol pumps, etc. are exempted from this. The restaurant will be open, but cannot be eaten while sitting there. The restaurant will only be open for home delivery and take away.

The central government sought oxygen help

Uddhav Thackeray said that there is an oxygen problem in Maharashtra. In addition, the central government sends oxygen to the state through air transport as well as air transport. All services except essential services have been banned in Maharashtra. CM Uddhav Thackeray said travel would be stopped anywhere without a need. Local and other buses will continue to run. Auto-taxi services will also continue. All of these services are intended for emergency service personnel.

Assistance to laborers, rickshaw pullers and tribals

Announcing this, Uddhav Thackeray said that 12 lakh laborers will be given financial assistance of Rs 1500-1500. Rickshaw drivers will also be given Rs 1,500. In addition, financial assistance of Rs. 2000 will be given to the tribals. We have set aside Rs 3300 crore for Kovid related facilities alone. The Uddhav government has prepared a financial assistance package of Rs 5,000 crore. Uddhav Thackeray has also announced that those who have ration cards will be given free rations for three months.
