Brazil refuses to buy 20 million doses of covacin made in India, orders last month

Rio de Janeiro, Ta. 1 April 2021, Thursday

Brazil is also one of the countries most affected by the Corona epidemic. Recently, the President of Brazil wrote a letter to PM Modi appealing for the supply of corona vaccine to India.

Now Brazil has refused to take 20 million doses of covacin made in India. Brazil ordered the dose, but now Brazil is arguing that the vaccine product did not comply with appropriate regulations. Vaccine maker Bharat Biotech, on the other hand, said the issue was being discussed with Brazil.

According to reports from the Brazilian government, Covexin has been rejected because the policy rules that should have been followed for making the drug have not been followed. In a conversation with a TV channel, the company said that all the requirements expressed by Brazil will be met. Talks are underway with Brazil to set a time limit for this. This issue will be resolved as soon as possible.

Bharat Biotech has also claimed that the order for the vaccine has not been canceled.

It may be mentioned that Bharat Biotech and Pune vaccine Covishield are currently being used in India. Covexin was approved for use in India in January. Last month, Brazil ordered 20 million doses of the vaccine.
