Announcement of Weekend Lockdown across UP amid Corona's Kher, discounting only essential services

A weekend lockdown has been announced in Uttar Pradesh amid a pandemic of Corona virus. According to the Uttar Pradesh government, from now on, there will be lockdowns in the entire region on Saturdays and Sundays. In addition, night curfew will be imposed in districts where there are more than 500 active cases.

During the weekend lockdown, people in Uttar Pradesh will be barred from leaving without a reason and only those associated with the required area will be allowed to leave. Apart from that, people involved in corona vaccination and medical field will also be exempted.

The Uttar Pradesh government also imposed a lockdown in several districts of the state last Sunday. The lockdown was imposed in about 10 districts this Sunday while now the entire region will have lockdown on Saturday and Sunday. The Uttar Pradesh government has directed not to leave the house unless needed. At the same time, they are told to celebrate festivals at home, not to crowd in public places and to wear masks when going out.

The Allahabad High Court had a few days back directed a complete lockdown in 5 cities of the state. But the state government forbade a complete lockdown and knocked on the door of the Supreme Court. But now the state government has only pointed to the weekend lockdown.
