A third vaccine will be approved in India in 10 days amid corona outbreaks

New Delhi, April 11, 2021

"The third corona vaccine will be approved in India within 10 days," Union Health Minister Dr Harshvardhan told a news channel amid growing corona outbreaks in the country.

He said the application was filed by Fiz, a vaccine maker, but withdrew the application when it came to a trial in India, while Moderna, another vaccine maker, never submitted an application.

As for the Russian vaccine Sputnik, he said, "We have an application for this vaccine and I understand that its emergency use will be approved within 10 days."

"Six corona vaccines are currently undergoing clinical trials and 14 vaccines are in pre-clinical trial mode. We have given 100 million doses of the two vaccines currently in circulation to people," he said.
