BJP leader and actor Mithun Chakraborty has been given Y-plus category protection by the Home Ministry ahead of the West Bengal elections. Mithun Chakraborty had recently joined the BJP. Today they have been given Y Plus category protection. Gemini will be given Y Plus category protection from CISF.
Generally 11 commandos of the Armed Police are deployed in this type of security. Of which 58 police static jawans live around their house for the protection of VIPs. Also 6 PSOs provide security in three shifts.
The Home Ministry has given X and Y category security to about 60 leaders in Bengal before the elections before giving M Plus security to Mithun. All these protections have been given to the leaders of West Bengal by the Home Ministry in the last one month.
The Home Ministry provided security to several leaders in the wake of the pre-election violence. The link has provided security to two more leaders today, including Mithun Chakraborty and BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. Nishikant Dubey will get Y category security during the Bengal elections.
