A 100-year-old Hindu temple in the Pakistani city of Rawalpindi was attacked by a group of unidentified people. According to a complaint lodged with the police, a mob of 10 to 15 people attacked the temple in the old part of the city on Saturday evening and smashed the CDO along with another door in addition to the main gate upstairs.

It is learned that the construction and renovation work of the temple has been going on for the last one month. The encroachment in front of the temple was removed on March 24. Religious activities have not started in the temple as repairs are underway and no idols have been kept there for worship. However, legal action has been demanded against those who damaged the temple and its sanctity.

Earlier, the invaders had occupied the temple for a long time by constructing shops and patas around it. The district administration had recently removed the pressure with the help of police.
