New delhi date. 24. Wednesday, March, 2021

Last year, the central government directed the state governments to release paroled prisoners on parole due to Corona, which led to the release of prisoners by several states.

However, details have now surfaced that 2,000 inmates released on parole from Delhi's Tihar Jail have not returned to the jail even after a year. A notice has been issued by the jail authorities in this regard. Have escaped. Now the prison administration has informed the police.

Police are likely to launch an operation in the coming days to find the prisoners. Of the 18,000 inmates at Tihad Jail, 7,000 were released on parole or bail last year due to corona. So that they can be protected from the virus.

However, now many of these prisoners are reluctant to return. Of those released, 5,000 were under trial. As many as 2,000 of them have not returned to the jail. The process of declaring them fugitives will begin in a few days.

Some lawyers, on the other hand, say the jail authorities need to say whether they have sent a message to the inmates to surrender. The inmates have not been notified.
