The tussle between the two women started at 11 am and ended at 2 am with a bid of Rs 510 crore.

The shop sold for Rs 65 lakh last year

The liquor shop at Kuiyan village sold for about Rs 65 lakh last year. Bids for the liquor store started this year at Rs 72 lakh. A struggle broke out between two women from a family in Kuiyan village to buy the shop. After such a long bid, the hands and feet of the excise officials started swelling.

510 crore bid

Excise officials have started further proceedings after the bidding ended at 2 pm. Kiran Kanwar, a bidder for Rs 510 crore, has been asked to deposit Rs 2 per cent of the total value of the shop within two days. However, excise officials still do not trust the bid. He has announced the allotment letter in favor of Kiran Kanwar as per the bid. At the same time, if the winner of this bid does not take the shop, it will be blacklisted in the future.

The beginning of the system by the Gehlot government

In fact, people in Rajasthan are protesting against such bidding of liquor shops. Shops that used to sell for Rs 5 to 10 lakh are now selling for Rs 5 to 10 crore. Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had set up a lottery system by ending the bidding system to give a chance to the unemployed and end the liquor mafia but Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is re-auctioning shops by ending the 15-year-old system. The government is getting thousands of crores of rupees in revenue due to the auction of liquor shops.
