PM Modi will be on a tour of Bangladesh during the first phase of polling in West Bengal. The political significance of Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bangladesh is becoming clear. They will visit the birthplace of Harichand Thakur, the founder of the Matua community, during a visit to Bangladesh on March 26 and 27. Prime Minister Matua will meet the people of Bengal on March 27 when the first phase of voting is taking place. Even if we leave the political angle, the Prime Minister's visit to Bangladesh is special in many ways.

Notably, the Matua community in Bengal is a large vote bank and has an impact on 70 assembly seats. Under these circumstances, the political significance of the Prime Minister's visit to Bangladesh is bound to emerge. When the first phase of polling takes place in West Bengal, Prime Minister Koro will be on his first foreign trip since his tenure, and also in Bangladesh, near Bengal.

However, the Prime Minister's visit to Bengal is under discussion for 3 reasons. First, it is the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence. Secondly, this is the centenary year of the birth of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and thirdly, this is the 50th year of India-Bangladesh diplomatic relations.

India-Bangladesh relations have been further strengthened by India's Neighborhood First and Act East policy. Due to the friendship, Bangladesh has received the highest dose of India's vaccine during the Corona era. Of the 90 lakh vaccine doses received by Bangladesh, 20 lakh doses are in the form of grants.
