The BJP on Thursday fielded E Sreedharan, popularly known as Metro Man, as the party's chief ministerial candidate for the Kerala Assembly elections. The 88-year-old Sridhar joined the BJP just last week.
In Kerala, BJP president K Surendran, who is touring the entire state, gave this information during the Vijay Yatra, saying the party would soon release a list of other candidates.
It may be mentioned here that E Sreedharan formally joined the BJP on February 25, he joined the party at a BJP function in Malappuram, Kerala. He said the BJP would contest the Assembly elections if it wanted to and was also ready to be the chief ministerial candidate if the party said so.
