The Supreme Court has asked IPS officer Paramvir Singh to file an application in the High Court. Paramvir Singh has accused Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of running a 'money collection scheme' by the police. A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice R Subhash Reddy termed the case as "very serious" and asked it to file an application in the High Court.

Singh then withdrew his application from the Supreme Court and said he would go to the High Court himself. Justice Kaul said the petitioner made some allegations and the minister also made some allegations. I do not understand why you should not go to the High Court. As we understand, the case is serious but the powers of Article 226 are very broad. Rohatgi recommends to the court that the High Court be directed to hear the case tomorrow as CCTV evidence is involved.

Singh was removed from the post of Mumbai police commissioner after explosives were found near Mukesh Ambani's house and police officer Sachin Waze was arrested. In the application he has also challenged the transfer to the post of Homeguard DG.
