If you have to be hospitalized due to adverse effects of the vaccine, the insurance company will pay the cost: Irda's order

- The health insurance policy covers the treatment of Kovid-19 but does not cover the cost of vaccination.

The company will now bear the cost of hospitalized health insurance holders due to adverse effects after the vaccination of Covid-19. The Insurance Regulatory and Development Organization of India has issued clear guidelines in this regard. Irda said that if the health insurance customer's health deteriorates due to the Covid-19 vaccine and he has to be hospitalized, he will be able to claim against the insurance company for the cost of treatment.

A few days ago, the Director of Insurance had included the treatment of Kovid-19 in the health insurance policy but did not include the cost of vaccination which is still out of the policy.

Questions against companies

The health workers questioned the insurance company that if they had to be hospitalized after the covid vaccination, the insurance company would bear the cost of treatment. Explaining this, Irda said that consumers can make a claim as per the general terms and conditions of the health insurance policy.
