If I don't vote, I won't get electricity and water, Mamata's minister threatens voters

New Delhi, March 7, 2021

The election campaign of political parties for the West Bengal Assembly elections is in full swing.

Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress candidate and Tapan Dasgupta, the current agriculture minister in the Bengal government, is threatening voters for votes at a time when all parties are trying to woo voters.

According to a media report, Agriculture Minister Tapan Dasgupta told voters, "If you don't vote for me, you will have serious consequences."

At a rally on Saturday, Dasgupta announced from the platform that "it has been decided that electricity and water will not be provided in areas where I will not get votes. Anyone who wants to complain to the BJP can do so."

Dasgupta won elections in 2011 and 2016 and is running again in 2021.

Earlier, another candidate from Mamata Banerjee's party, Hamidul Rahman, had threatened at a rally that traitors would be seen after the elections.
