Exports of Kovid-19 vaccine are unlikely to increase in the next few months. As the Corona case is growing rapidly, India's entire focus is on meeting its domestic demand. According to an official, India will meet its commitments with various countries but will not increase exports for the next few months to meet domestic demand.

The official said the situation would be reviewed after 2-3 months. India started delivering vaccines abroad from January 20. So far, India has sent 64 million doses of the vaccine to about 80 countries.

It may be mentioned that the Union Health Minister Dr. Harshvardhan also told the Rajya Sabha last week that India would not export vaccines at the expense of its own people. "India is fulfilling its responsibility to the world by making the vaccine it needs available in government and private hospitals," he said.
