- Activists of leftist student organizations allegedly attacked by BCL, 20 injured in violent protest

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Bangladesh as the chief guest to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh's independence. He was welcomed at the airport by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Modi was given a guard of honor.
On the other hand, at least 20 people were injured in the protests that took place just before Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bangladesh. Violent protests against Prime Minister Modi's visit took place on the campus of Dhaka University in which at least 20 people were injured. The injured include two journalists and two activists of the pro-government Bangladesh Students League (BCL).
Activists of left-wing student organizations protesting against PM Modi's visit to Dhaka University campus on Thursday were allegedly attacked by the BCL. Activists of the Jubo Odhikar Parishad, who were protesting against the arrival of the Indian Prime Minister in the Motizil area of the city, also clashed with police.
