Ajit Pawar issued the warning in the wake of the rising Corona case in Pune

Concerned over the rising number of corona cases in Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday warned that some drastic measures would be taken in Pune district from next week if the condition of Kovid-19 does not improve.

Pawar is currently in charge of Pune, and he held a press conference after reviewing the situation in Corona in the district, in which he made the remarks.

"I want to tell people that the situation is serious, and if it continues, we will take strict action in the first week of April in Pune district," he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister once again warned the people to wear masks, maintain social distance, and keep their hands clean as per the Covid-19 guidelines.

Currently only 50 people can attend the wedding in the state, while only 20 people are allowed to attend the funeral, he said, adding that social and political events in the state have been canceled.

Hotels and restaurants will be open with 50 per cent capacity till 10 pm, while 50 per cent beds in private hospitals will be taken over by the state government if there is a surge in the transition to Coro. The Jumbo Hospital for Coro patients in Pune and the Jumbo Facility Center in Pimpri Chinchwad will be opened in April.

A further 500 beds have been added to Sassoon General Hospital, an officer has been appointed to ensure uninterrupted supply of oxygen to the hospital. While Pune has discussed with Union Minister Prakash Javadekar for more doses of the covid vaccine, and he has agreed to it.
