230 VIPs in the country get Central Government Z +, Z and Y category protection

Union Minister of State for Home G Kishan Reddy said on Tuesday that 230 people in the country were being provided Z-plus, Z-and-Y category protection by central paramilitary forces like CRPF and CISF, in a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha.

He said, ‘Security is periodically provided and reviewed based on the assessment of the central agencies about the potential risk to the persons included in the central list of protected persons. Based on such a review, it is decided to continue, withdraw or improve the security shield.

The minister said the central list currently includes 230 names. He said that usually the cost of security of these people is borne by the government. However, he did not give information about the total amount spent behind the safety of such people.
