The martyrdom of the soldiers who have been martyred for the country makes the eyes water but sometimes it is tempting to salute the vigor of their families. Grenadier Hemraj, who was martyred for the country, was honored with the Gallantry Award. On behalf of Hemraj, his 70-year-old mother took to the stage to receive the award. "My second son's name is Bansi and I want to enlist him in the army so that I can improve my old age," he told Lt. Gen. Alok Claire.

Hemraj Jat was a resident of Rajasthan and was only 25 years old when he was martyred. On Friday, Martyr Hemraj was honored with an award for bravery.

Officers present there were also moved to see the 70-year-old mother who had come to receive the award on behalf of her son. Lieutenant General Clare first saluted Hemraj's mother and handed over the award for her son's bravery. Hemraj was martyred in 2019 during the firing by Pakistan on the Jammu border.
