Supreme Court finally grants bail to comedian who made comments that hurt the feelings of Hindus

The Supreme Court has finally granted bail to comedian Munawwar Farooqi, who is lodged in jail on charges of insulting the religious sentiments of Hindus.

A case was registered against Farooqi in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He then applied to the Supreme Court after the High Court refused to grant him bail. During his trial, the apex court granted him bail and also stayed the warrant issued in the case in UP.

Farooqi and four other accomplices were arrested on January 1. Farooqi was accused of making indecent remarks against Hindu deities and Amit Shah at a show in Indore on New Year's Eve. He was then denied bail by a Madhya Pradesh court. He has now finally got relief from the Supreme Court.
