Starting today, FASTag will be mandatory across the country

Automatic payment system FASTag will be mandatory at toll plazas across the country from today. People who have not yet installed it in their vehicle or whose tag is not working may have to pay a fine.

As a penalty, customers may have to pay double the toll depending on the category of their vehicle. Fast tagged vehicles do not need to stop at the toll plaza. Fast tag has become mandatory for every vehicle from midnight today.

NHAI has set up more than 40,000 centers for this purpose where you can purchase fast tags showing the required documents. Booths for fast tags have been set up at the side of the toll plaza as you pass by.
