The Congress has targeted the Modi government over the steady rise in petrol and diesel prices in the country. Targeting the BJP, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "All days of the week are expensive days. The day on which oil prices do not rise should be declared a 'good day' by the BJP."

Priyanka Gandhi tweeted, "BJP government should name the day of the week 'Achcha Din' on which petrol-diesel prices do not go up.

In this regard, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also targeted the Modi government by tweeting in stages. He blamed rising oil prices for the Modi government's misguided policies. According to him, the current crude oil prices in the international market are half that of the UPA, but petrol-diesel prices have reached an all-time high.
