PM Modi will chair the policy commission meeting, Mamata-Amarinder will not be involved


- Punjab Finance Minister will join the meeting instead of Amarinder Singh

A meeting of the Governing Council of the Policy Commission will be held today under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, the Prime Minister will chair the sixth meeting of the Governing Council of the Policy Commission via video conferencing. The agenda of the meeting includes discussions on agriculture, infrastructure, manufacturing, human resource development, service delivery at ground level and health and nutrition. The meeting will also review the steps taken on the agenda of the previous meeting.

In the meeting, the central government will discuss with the chief ministers of the state on the recently presented budget besides basic infrastructure, exports, health, education. Prime Minister Modi will discuss all development issues with the Chief Ministers of all the states.

The policy commission is scheduled to hold discussions with all the chief ministers of the state but Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh will not attend the meeting due to his ill health. He will be replaced by Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is also reportedly not attending the policy commission meeting.
