Opposition MPs write letter to Speaker, says situation like India-Pakistan border on Ghazipur border

10 Opposition MPs have written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Bidla regarding the farmers who have been protesting on the Delhi border for the last several months against the agricultural law. In their letter, the MPs told the Lok Sabha Speaker that a situation similar to the Indo-Pakistan border had arisen on the Ghazipur border. The condition of the peasants has become like that of the prisoners of the prison.

According to the MPs, 15 MPs from several parties including Shiromani Akali Dal, NCP and TMC went to the Ghazipur border to interact with the farmers but they were not allowed to meet them.

According to Harsimrat Kaur, an Akali Dal MP who reached the Ghazipur border to meet the farmers, she and other party MPs were not allowed to go to the protest site. It may be mentioned that along with Harsimrat Kaur Badal, Supriya Sule of NCP, Konimoi of DMK and Saugat Roy of Tiruchi Shiva, TMC also reached Ghazipur border to meet the farmers. He was accompanied by MPs from National Conference, RSP and IUML.
