Nikita Jacob gets big relief in toolkit case, anticipatory bail granted

Activist Nikita Jacob, who is facing a public non-bailable arrest warrant from the Delhi Police in the toolkit case, has been granted transit anticipatory bail. The Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted him a three-week interim relief. The court also ordered him to pay a bond of Rs 25,000.

During the hearing on Wednesday, some documents were presented by the defense on Nikita Jacob's transit ABA. Arguments of Delhi Police have been given. The question of jurisdiction also arose where the defense had filed a copy of the interim relief decision granted to Shantanu before the court.

Disha Ravi, a 22-year-old climate activist, was arrested by the Delhi Police from Bengaluru on Saturday last week. On Monday, Delhi Police issued non-bailable arrest warrants against lawyer Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk in the toolkit case. Nikita Jacob then applied for anticipatory bail in the Bombay High Court.

Shantanu Muluk had also applied for bail in the Aurangabad batch after which he was granted interim bail for 10 days. Today Nikita has got 3 weeks interim relief.
