In the state's local body elections, BJP's Supadasaf, Congress won seven municipal corporations.

The counting of votes for 109 Municipalities, Nagar Panchayats and 7 Municipal Corporations of Punjab is underway. BJP's supremacy has been wiped out in seven municipal corporations of Punjab.

In the local body, Congress has won Moga, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Abohar, Pathankot, Batala and Bathinda Municipal Corporations. The Congress has come to power in the Bathinda Municipal Corporation after 53 years.

While Shiromani Akali Dal has won 10 out of 13 seats in Majithia Municipal Corporation. Voting for that took place on February 14th. The turnout in the state was 71.39% amid protests by farmers over the Centre's three agricultural laws.

Re-election was held on Tuesday at several booths. The results will also be announced today. Simultaneously, Mohali Municipal Corporation booth no. Voting will resume on 32 and 33 today from 8 to 4 p.m. His vote will be counted on Thursday.
